Fantastic German Cities

Located on the River Elbe, Hamburg boasts one of the world’s most historic ports, and here you can discover all about the work that went into selling and trading spices, coffee, and tobacco throughout the years. Hamburg is also a must-visit for music fans as it was once home to The Beatles!

Another German city that deserves a mention is Munich, as this is where you will find the famous Oktoberfest beer festival each year. However, it is also home to the English Garden which is one of the world’s largest inner city parks, and if it is beer that you are looking for you will be pleased to find it in one of the park’s four beer gardens.

Discover Stunning Scenery

When it comes to finding stunning scenery in Europe you will struggle to discover anything more beautiful than the Neuschwanstein Castle which is set against a Bavarian backdrop in the south-east of the country. In fact, it was this castle that inspired Walt Disney to create his own magical world, so it truly is straight out of a fairy tale.

The south-east is the place to head in general if you would like to spend time admiring beautiful views as it is a stunning alpine area full of chocolate box villages, striking fortresses, and medieval towns to explore. The perfect location for getting a little bit lost and taking plenty of photos!

Germany has an amazing number of fantastic cities to explore, and each one offers a range of things to do, so you can be confident that you will find plenty of entertainment no matter where you choose to visit.

For fascinating history, amazing landmarks and great nightlife, take a trip to Berlin where you will find monuments such as the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag Building, and Berlin Cathedral. Western Germany & Rhine Valley

For a bit of peace and tranquillity, head out of the cities and into the west of Germany and the Rhine Valley where you will be greeted by stretches of forest, terraced vineyards, dominating cliffs, and fairy tale villages. You can follow the famous wine route through the Rhine Valley, which produces over 80% of all German wine and attracts visitors from around the world every year, which is a great activity for wine lovers.

Alternatively, head to Cologne which is set on the Rhine River and visit its UNESCO World Heritage Cathedral which has 533 steps leading to amazing panoramic views of the city. You can also enjoy wandering around the Old Town, or take a look at the world’s oldest perfume factory which is located here.
